Email List Building Strategies
You need a list. That’s a given. This is the most important factor in your long-term success. After it’s built, it’s yours to use any time you want. Just push a button and print money – literally.
Now you now why. Here’s how:
Here’s what you need to build your list:
- Your Opt-in Page
- The Bribe
- Your Confirmation Page
Your Opt-in Page – The squeeze page is the first thing your visitor is going to see. This is where they will enter their email address. That’s why it needs to look like a professionally designed page. And have an easy to understand opt-in form. You’ve also got to make a strong “close”.
If you fail to make a strong close, you’re wasting your efforts. Your call to action tells the visitor what to do. And if you don’t include it, they won’t opt in. Oddly, if you don’t make it clear, people will be confused and end up doing nothing.
One way to really spice up your squeeze page is to add a video to it. Adding video will help keep your visitors attention. It also allows you to tell them what to do several times. Then at the end of the video you can print “sign up now” on the video.
If you don’t know how to make video, don’t worry. Hiring out-sourced help to do it for you only costs $150 – $250. You can also find ready-made list building tools that have everything pre-built for you.
Your Bribe – Next, you’ve got to figure out what your bribe is. You have to give people a compelling reason to give your their email. Email privacy is very important to most people. So make your “bribe” a good one!
The only way to make this work is to provide real value. It has to be something that people actually want. And will be able to actually benefit from it. This can be:
- An eBook
- Software
- Videos
- A multi-part email series
Basically, you just need some content. It’s got to be something helpful for your new subscribers. And nothing sells like “free”. Bottom line is it’s got to be worth more to them than their email address.
Once again, don’t worry if you don’t know how to create the freebie. Here again, you can hire freelancers to create this for you. You just pick the topic and they create the training. For example, you could have them write a 5-part email course. Each email will cost between $20 and $25. So, you’ll get the whole series written for under $150.
You can also get email list building tools that include the premium. Two things to keep in mind when writing (or buying) and email training series. The first thing is that it delivers value to your subscribers. And second, it needs to make you money. The easiest way to do this is to market affiliate products in the emails. This is such a simple solution because you don’t have to create the product. And it enables you to generate cash right away from your new list.
Your Confirmation Page – The last bit is the thank you page. This is the page your subscriber sees after they opt in. It’s a great idea to give them some valuable information right on the thank you page. That way, they feel glad that they gave you their email address. It also helps to build the relationship. It also makes them more likely to open your emails.
This is another case where you can get a complete marketing package. Or you can go the DIY route. You can either write the content pages on your own. Or hire ghost writers to write them for you.
Summary
It doesn’t matter if you do all of this yourself. Or if you hire people to do this for you. Or if sign up for a “complete package” solution. It’s just important that you start today building your opt-in list. Because once its built… You can basically write your own meal ticket.
Cheers
