I am sure once you have posted your articles to your blog and tested the link is OK, you will no longer check on the link again, right? Do you know, after some time, some of these links will be broken, especially linking to external sources?. The reason is that the external sources might remove the link.

So how can we continuos check the linking in our numerous posts?
Have no fear, solution is here.
The easy way is to use the Broken Link checker plugin.

This is a “Must Have” plugin for all bloggers.

The installation is quite standard for plugins. You just download from the website, unzip the files, upload the folders to your blog’s plugin folder and activate.

You can get the plugin at
http://w-shadow.com/blog/2007/08/05/broken-link-checker-for-wordpress/

Once the installation is successful, at the Dash board , you will see the below screen,
If you have broken links, just click on the “Found xx broken links”

It will bring you to this screen, just mouse over the URL to bring up the Edit.
You can edit it here

When you use Firefox browser to access to a website, you might occasionally come across a small picture next to the website’s name. The little picture is known as favicon.

The purpose of the favicon is to get attention for your blog or website. The favicon can be any picture.

In Firefox browser, the favicon can appear at the URL and also at the tab.

Also if you bookmark a website in Firefox browser, the favicon is also displayed there. The purpose is to catch the eye of the reader so that they might access your blog more frequently

Setup favicon
To setup a favicon is easy especially if you are using a wordpress blog. They have plugins for practically everything. Well, not everything, I still need to make my own coffee. OK, coming back to favicon.

You can use a plugin to install the favicon. You can get the plugin here.
http://www.maxblogpress.com/plugins/mfi

Once you have uploaded it to your blog. You need to go to Settings-> MBP favicon

You can just choose one of the favicon above and click Save. Voila! You just have a favicon tied to your web link.

Simple isn’t it.

Cheers. Keep coming to my blog, yeah!
